Celebrate the transformational benefits of shale energy, worldwide.

We focus on making the maximum positive impact for our shale energy community. Our sponsors, partners, supporters and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us effect change, engender good will, spread accurate information, exchange positive news, and provide for citizen outreach. Using solid facts and data-driven approaches, we provide an outreach platform that makes a long-lasting difference.

Seeing a need for energetic support of the benefits of shale energy, we formed this worldwide initiative to provide a sensible networking solution around the concept of a "World Shale Energy Day." This is "ONE DAY FOR SHALE ENERGY." We've consistently grown our supporter base of progressive energy industry leaders since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing professional community!

Our resourceful team of shale energy professionals is committed to educating, leading, informing and networking with others. We take our convictions and turn them into action. Think you would be a good fit? Get in touch for more information by way of "Contact Us form", or e-mail, phone, social media, video conference calls or in person. Join in as an organizer, or participant, or observer; all are welcome!

Organic-rich shale begins its journey as a fine-grained sedimentary rock formed from the accumulation of mud, silt, and algae in ancient, low-oxygen marine environments. Over millions of years, these layers are buried deep within the earth, where intense heat and pressure trigger a chemical transformation known as catagenesis. This process turns the trapped organic matter into kerogen, and eventually into the hydrocarbons we recognize as oil and natural gas, stored within the rock’s microscopic pore spaces.
The primary benefit of these shale stacks lies in their immense density and "self-sourcing" nature, meaning the rock acts as both the kitchen where the fuel is cooked and the reservoir where it is stored. The exciting outcome of modern energy production has been the perfection of horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing, which allows us to access these once-unreachable resources with surgical precision. Looking forward, these formations are being reimagined as prime candidates for carbon sequestration, potentially turning the same geological traps that held gas for eons into permanent storage for captured emissions.
Despite its massive impact on global energy security, the shale stack remains an underappreciated story because the public often views it as a "tapped out" resource rather than a dynamic technological frontier. We are currently seeing a shift from simple extraction to advanced digital modeling and enhanced recovery techniques that could double the efficiency of existing wells. The true narrative isn't just about what we’ve already pumped, but about the sophisticated subsurface science that ensures shale will remain a cornerstone of both traditional energy and the transition to a low-carbon future.
The horizon for shale resources is incredibly bright, promising a world of energy super-abundance where scarcity is a relic of the past. By marrying shale's vast geographic footprint with emerging green technologies, we can unlock a sustainable, high-output energy grid that powers global prosperity. This evolution celebrates shale not just as a fuel source, but as a foundational pillar for a cleaner, wealthier, and more energized civilization for generations to come.
